Assistant Quantity Surveyor Required

Assistant Quantity Surveyor, £35,0000-£40,000 - East London / Essex My client, a FTSE 250 company with over 30 years' experience of working across the full industry construction spectrum are currently looking for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their team. The role will involve management of all costs relating to the initial calculations through to final figures. The individual will seek to minimise the costs of a project and enhance value for money, while still achieving the required standards and quality - this includes ensuring statutory building regulations are met.You will be involved in a project from the start, preparing estimates and costs of the work. When the project is in progress, you'll keep track of any variations to the contract that may affect costs and create reports to show profitability as well as asses viability of future sites and their potential to be improved upon. Other key responsibilities for this position include:Analyse outcomes and write detailed progress reports Advise on cash-flow and funding requirements by liaising with external Fund/Bank Monitoring Surveyors Complete Quantity Surveyor duties including pricing of variations, interim valuations and valuing sub-contractors' accounts Responsibility to carry out Commercial activities for specific areas of responsibility to deliver project objectives. Provide support and assist senior Commercial personnel with pricing of variations, interim valuations and valuing sub-contractors' accountsTo ensure project profit objectives and targets are met and cash and margin are managed to maximize performance, all in a manner consistent with the Group processes. Prepare tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities with the architect Contract management of sub-contractors on site Perform risk, value management and cost control Key deliverables and required experience:Analyse outcomes and write detailed progress reports Provide regular reports on projects in progress and reporting actual/potential issues experience with new builds and office PD schemes Have a sound understanding of construction technologies and UK Building regulations Familiar with UK Planning and Building Regulations Advise project management on contractual implications of intended courses of action Assisting in preparation of claims All Commercial duties including measurement, valuation and agreement of work sections. Management and reporting of monthly costs Assisting with the preparation of final account, including pricing. Drafting and preparation of monthly contract review reports. Within this role the successful candidate must be well versed in all construction methodologies and procedures. They must also be competent with presentation of complex information to the project teams together with the ability to motivate and influence through excellent interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills.
