This is a great opportunity to volunteer in a busy, vibrant and fast paced Oxfam Shop. You will be joining with the Shop Manager and given relevant training as required to enable you to help run this busy shop. This is a great opportunity to gain managerial experience in a busy retail environment. Many of our interns have gone on to obtain employment within Oxfam and other charities.
1. Assist the Manager in the daily running of the shop.
2. Take responsibility for the operation of the shop in the absence of the Shop Manger (once fully trained)
3. Assist the Manager to recruit and train new volunteers, manage and motivate existing volunteers to help us achieve great results.
4. Cash handling, financial management, till work, merchandising and general administrative tasks.
5. Option to specialize in a particular department. I.e books, clothing.
1. Should be able to work at least two full days a week for three months.
2. Honesty, reliability, integrity and commitment to the shop and Oxfam’s values.
3. Motivating teams as well as the capacity to work on your own.
4. Hard working and a willingness to learn.
5. Enjoy working in a friendly, fun and diverse team.
1. Training and experience as an Assistant Manager.
2. Gain experience of working in a fast paced retail environment. Many of our interns have gone on to full employment.
3. Be part of an amazing diverse team of national and international volunteers.
4. Learn new skills with option of attending internal training workshops.
5. Be part of Oxfam, helping to overcome poverty and suffering
