EASTSIDE YOUTH
#YouthWorkChangesLives
Want to make a positive impact in a new start up youth charity, where you will have maximum input?
Be part of an amazing team!
Eastside Youth is a new youth work charity, that started in January 2022 and is based in East London aiming to change the lives of young people and has been set up in response to the massive and severe funding cuts and closures of youth services across East London, leaving young people with lack of services and feeling isolated in a time where young people already feel segregated from society with no real voice.
#YouthWorkChangesLives and at Eastside Youth we aim to facilitate that change by giving young people aged 11 to 19 years old based in East London the tools and skills to lead active and independent lives by providing interactive and engaging structured youth activities, training opportunities and support that will help improve their physical, mental, emotional, social and educational well-being.
Our aim is to help fill gaps in service provision, working with all young people from all backgrounds, especially marginalised and hard to reach young people and we have recently launched our pilot youth project which is a monthly LGBT + Youth Group in Havering East London in partnership with Havering Council and are preparing to launch other youth programs open to all young people aged 11 to 19 years old, across East London throughout year, including a mental health youth programme in partnership with MIND Charity.
We are recruiting volunteers with both experienced and those with no experience to join us at Eastside Youth as a volunteer. As a new youth work charity we have a lot of volunteer positions open for interested candidates, from Trustees, to youth work positions to head office positions and those wishing to use their experience and skills in areas of need for a new start up as a one off or short term.
People we are looking for:
1. Can do attitude and able to get things done (Actions speak louder than words).
2. Fantastic people and presentation skills (Friendly, Approachable, Confident).
3. Excellent time keeping and punctuality.
4. Organised.
5. Good standard of English reading and writing.
6. Good understanding of confidentiality, safeguarding/child protection and equal opportunities.
7. Commitment to the role and charity.
8. People who can help get our new charity on the map, increase our profile and also help make us a successful charity.
