Sous Chef – The South Bank Centre
Company of Cooks operate the catering services at some of London’s most iconic cultural public attractions.
The South Bank Centre are looking for a great Sous Chef with specific responsibilities including; events canape/bowl food receptions and the batch cooking of hot dishes for our cafes. A passionate interest in food is essential as well great communication skills, training and people skills, as well as a strong commercial awareness of all aspects of kitchen management.
We offer a wide variety of services and food including a busy public café, members’ bar, BBQ and street food plus events catering for up 1000 people.
At Company of Cooks we focus on fresh seasonal food using the best available ingredients. The Sous Chef will work closely with and support our Head Chef and take full responsibility for the smooth running of the kitchen in the Head Chefs absence.
To Work as Sous Chef candidates must:
•Have previous experience in a similar role
•Have excellent craft skills
•Have an ability to train and develop the brigade
•Be able to deliver a quality product through a small team
•Be able to manage food hygiene, health and safety and general housekeeping
•Have a solid understanding of how to control General Practitioner , wastage and labour costs
Hours of Work
•40 hours per week. 5/7 days
Salary / Benefits for the successful applicants:
•Salary Circa £30k pa depending on experience
•Working in the prestigious and exciting Venue
•Mostly daytime shifts, with a few evenings during the events season
