A client of Greycoat Lumleys has a job for a Sous Chef. The Sous Chef job is available immediately or at the start of 2022, depending on when the candidate is available.
The client, a private members' club, has a kitchen of about eight permanent Chefs, plus temporary ones when it is required. They supply food for the restaurant (fifty covers), a function room and also two private dining rooms. The menu is a la Carte in the restaurant and fine dining across the board. The emphasis is on seasonal produce, and British produce is very much promoted within the club. Lunch and dinner served from Monday to Saturday.
The Sous Chef will be required to work in the team and assist the Head Chef with the management of the team and will run it in the Head Chef's absence. The Senior Sous will come up with new menu ideas, do the ordering, the planning and the stock taking. They will need to be proficient in health and safety and ensure these procedures are carried out through the kitchen. The right candidate will be creative and have some good idea for new menus, still being centered around British produce. experience in management, either in restaurants, or in functions, will be essential.
