Peabody has an exciting opportunity for a Receptionist to join our team in London.You will join us on a full time, fixed term basis and will receive a salary of £21,778 per annum.
Since 2000, Peabody has invested over £73 million in improvements to residents’ homes and the physical surroundings in Pembury and a further £2.2 million in a range of community programs, including a neighbourhood learning centre providing employment and skills training to local residents and a range of youth services, including a youth club. There are already strong networks and groups flourishing on the estate. Local groups use the two community halls to run their own activities, such as ‘stay and play’ sessions for parents of young children, homework clubs, bingo and a crafts club, led by residents and supported by our Community Development Worker.
The Receptionist role:
The postholder will be responsible for providing a welcoming and professional reception service at the Centre and administrative support to Centre staff.
Key responsibilities of our Receptionist:
- Provide a welcoming and responsive reception service is provided to all visitors to the Centre and telephone calls are handled politely and efficiently.
- Be the first point of contact for residents and customers.
- Signpost residents to Peabody Direct and manage queries as agreed with Centre Management (car parking, rent statements, customer repairs)
- Liaise with colleagues, visitors and contractors to get facilities fit for purpose.
- Ensure the office environment is organised, professional and friendly.
Skills/experience required by the Receptionist:
- experience of admin and reception work
- Excellent customer care skills with an ability to be respectful and calm in all dealings with centre-users, residents and professionals.
- An ability to communicate effectively and sensitively with people of all ages, diverse cultures and backgrounds.
- Good written and spoken English
- Self-motivated with excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Intermediate IT skills including Word and Excel.
- Ability to multi-task
