Head Chef
The purpose of the role is to take responsibility for the complete day to day control of a 24/7 kitchen operation, made up of circa 25 team members, with an emphasis on managing and developing the kitchen team.
- Competitive salary
- 40 Hours / 5 shifts per week (Additional hours may be required at times to meet the needs of the business)
- Due to the nature of our business this role involves working predominantly night shifts and some weekends.
The ideal candidate will:
Be able to demonstrate a proven track record in quality food production.
Possess strong people skills with evidence of leading and coaching a kitchen team.
Have a creative and innovative flair combined with sound kitchen admin skills.
Have attained a minimum Level 3 Food Safety Certificate (Level 4 Food Safety Certificate preferred)
Main Responsibilities
Managing a 24/7 multi-faceted branded kitchen environment offering a range of different menus, including event catering for up to circa 200 persons.
Maintaining highest standards of food and presentation.
Develops and motivates the team, recognising and acknowledging achievement and effort.
Ensures kitchen team are equipped with necessary skills and knowledge in relation to food safety and accident prevention.
Ensure working practices enable minimum required General Practitioner margins.
Maintains controls to minimise food wastage and theft.
Recruitment and selection of kitchen team.
