We are looking for an individual who has a deep interest in progressing within an exciting growing company and wishes to enhance their management and cooking skills.
The successful candidate will be hands on working alongside a Head Chef to produce a contemporary range of breakfast items to include continental, healthy and cooked together with a range of hot dishes for lunch service comprising meat, special of the day, vegetarian and snack items.You will also need to have an understanding of corporate hospitality and be able to produce an exciting and fresh menu.
You will have some responsibility for menu standards, food costs and ordering. This will include due diligence and procedures that are followed on site.
With a trendy and modern clientele the food style will need to match this, therefore you will and have the ability to create new dishes and fresh ideas for the menu.
.As a chef you will have a stable background, and have a proven background in quick service restaurants or forward thinking business contracts. You will be an excellent communicator, building effective and constructive relationships and be happy to work as part of a team.
Person Specification
Essential
• A proven working knowledge of English cookery.
• A flair for cooking with fresh ingredients.
• Ability to cope under pressure, in a calm and efficient manner to set deadlines.
• experience of High Street retail food trends.
• Good interpersonal skills with both kitchen, front of house staff and management.
• A positive approach to menu planning and development of the catering service.
• Word, Excel and Outlook IT skills to basic level.
• Food hygiene certificate
• Menu costing experience
• Spots commercial opportunities and shows how they can be achieved.
• Develop and manage relationships with internal and external customers.
• Shows an understanding of providing first class customer service by all kitchen staff, setting a personal example at every opportunity.
The company offers sociable working hours from 7am to 3.30pm from Monday to Friday and favourable T and C's.
Salary dependant upon age.
