We need a creative chef/cook to do sweet baking, salads for events and BBQ cooking.
We have a supplier who makes the cafe salads/sandwiches and for the time being it will stay that way. I want to bring more sweet baking in-house (biscuits, banana bread, friands.). We also do some catering, large platters of salad, slow-cooked meat on the BBQ, antipasti etc.
We have a selection of healthy breakfast items (Bircher muesli, Chia pots etc.) that needs to be developed further so and interest in healthy eating and knowledge of current trends will be useful.
On Friday we BBQ burgers in the courtyard on a large charcoal BBQ. Some events also request BBQ cooking.
You will also need to use a computer to properly cost menu items and be fully compliant with environmental health.
approximately. 36 hrs usually. Aug and Nov-Jan are quieter months, and the rest of the year is pretty event-heavy with lots of extra hours.
The job is mostly Monday-Friday, only very occasionally do we require a chef for weekend events.
