An exciting opportunity has arisen for two full time support worker’s to come join our teamat our service in Hackney. As a support worker you will need to develop warm and trusting relationships with people with learning disabilities to help them to lead fulfilling and independent lives. No two days are the same, you will be supporting the tenants with personal care and to undertake household chores, including planning and preparing meals to supporting them in leisure, education and employment services inside and outside of the home.
You will need to have experience of caring/supporting people with mental health support needs in a paid or voluntary capacity. You will also need to have exceptional relationship building skills as you will be part of an experienced staff team working full time inside the homes. Excellent listening and communication skills and a positive encouraging attitude is a must. You will need to be able to demonstrate a good standard of written, verbal and numeracy skills as well as good basic IT skills. Most important is a genuine passion for supporting people with learning disabilities to reach their full potential.
You will be required to work shifts, including evenings, weekends and possible 'sleep-ins' or 'on call' duties.

Role specific requirements
No particular qualifications are required but the Diploma in Health and Social Care Level 2 or related qualification would be helpful. experience in behaviour that can challenge and Autism is essential. We also offer an excellent career progression, extensive training and support will be provided. Our own internal QCF Centre (recognised by the City and Guilds) which can lead to formal nationally recognised care qualifications.
