Location: Bexley
Hours of Work:
2 X Full Time Support Workers (38 hours per week)
1 X Bank Support Worker (as and when required)
Salary Range:£8.25 per hour rising to £8.75 after probation.
Allowances: Sleep-In Allowance £40.00 per sleep in (if required)

As a support worker you will need to develop warm and trusting relationships with people with learning disabilities to help them to lead fulfilling and independent lives.No two days are the same – you will be supporting the tenants to undertake household chores, including planning and preparing meals to supporting them in leisure, education and employment services inside and outside of the home on an as and when required basis.
experience with epilepsy is essential. experience of caring/supporting people with mental health support needs in a paid or voluntary capacity is desirable, you will also need to have exceptional relationship building skills as you will be part of an experienced staff team working inside their homes. Excellent listening and communication skills and a positive encouraging attitude is a must.You will need to be able to demonstrate a good standard of written, verbal and numeracy skills as well as good basic IT skills. Most important is a genuine passion for supporting people with learning disabilities to reach their full potential.
You will be required to work shifts, including evenings, weekends and possible “sleep-ins” or “on call” duties.

No particular qualifications are required but the Diploma in Health and Social Care Level 2 or related qualification would be helpful.We also offer an excellent career progression, extensive training and support will be provided. We provide QCF training (recognised by the City and Guilds) which can lead to formal nationally recognised care qualifications.
