Thomas, 8, is a funny and inquisitive little boy who enjoys a laugh and it great fun to be around. His mum, Daisy, has Loeys Dietz Syndrome, a severely physically debilitating disorder that affects every aspect of her life, including her ability to physically care for Thomas at times. We are looking for a compassionate and mature Support Worker / Family PA who can step in and fulfil some of the roles that Daisy is unable to perform.
The role will involve engaging with the whole family, looking after Thomas, housekeeping and helping Daisy. Daily activities include getting Thomas ready for school, swimming, helping with his homework, organizing fun games and activities and making sure Thomas follows his bed-time routine (making sure he brushes his teeth properly!) There will also be an element of shopping, keeping living areas tidy, planning and preparing meals, as well as ordering prescriptions, preparing heat and ice packs for Daisy and making sure that her mobility scooter is charged and ready to use. Daisy will need support during the day, especially with attending hospital appointments and some personal care.
This job will suit and organised and practical Support Worker / Family PA who can join a busy household and assist with its smooth running. You will be joining a small friendly team who will welcome a warm and upbeat colleague who will really get Stuck in and continue to support both Thomas’ and Daisy’s development.
*Days and hours: Tuesday to Friday
Tuesday: 8.00am to 11.am and 3.00pm to 8.00pm.
Wednesday to Friday: 8.00am to 9.15am (paid for two hours) and 3.00pm to 8.00pm.
29 Hours in total term time, with extra hours by mutual agreement.
48 Hours in school holidays, Tuesday to Friday 8.00am to 8.00pm.
