Purpose of the role: Retail Supervisor
To assist the Shop Manager in operating a successful and profitable Paul UK shop, managing operating procedures, maintaining high standards, daily running of the shop, achieving sales and profit targets and maintaining excellent standards of customer service through the development of the team.
Key Responsibilities
• Take responsibility for team work, leading and motivating team members
• Ensure the duty manager is notified of any performance issues immediately, e.g. Lateness, discrepancies, incidents
• Ensure that the team are fully briefed and trained on any new amended food and drink products, and on any promotional activity, as appropriate
• Hold pre-session briefings as and when appropriate
• Take responsibility for own training
• Adhere to opening and closing duties for the business
• Assist in implementing and driving promotional activities
• Ensure team members deliver the relevant upselling
• Ensure wastage is reported to the duty manager
• Deal with any issues that arise during each shift promptly and professionally, seeking advice from the duty manager where necessary
• Lead by example to ensure that the highest possible levels of customer service are delivered by team members at all times
• Assist the Shop and Assistant Managers as and when necessary to make the business run effectively and efficiently
• Ensure any complaints are dealt with in a prompt and professional manner, exceeding customer expectations
• Ensure the business is clean, tidy and well presented at all times
• Ensure the team serves all products to company and brand specification
• Report all accidents/incidents/maintenance issues through the correct procedure
• Complete daily, weekly and monthly procedures with duty manager
• Adhere to all aspects of Fire, Health and Safety, Food Hygiene, Trading Standards, COSHH and any other company policies
