Absolute Taste are currently recruiting for Sous Chefs to join our team based in Wandsworth, South West London. Growing from the demands of our regular clientele, Absolute Taste Inflight is now a dedicated division of the company geared to providing a 24 hr professional and efficient catering service to airports across London and the South East.
Absolute Taste offers a totally bespoke catering service for the aviation sector. Ensuring food is sourced from a handful of carefully selected suppliers we guarantee our food is fresh and full of flavour.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience within a similar environment and will be passionate about amazing food and exceptional service.
Due to the nature of the business shifts run at various times between the hours of 5:00am and 1:00am so it is essential applicants can make their way to and from Wandsworth around these times. There are no split shifts and as a business we endeavour to ensure all Inflight Chefs have 2 weekends off a month.
Job Role
• The Sous Chef will be working along with the Head Chef, responsible for the day to day running of a busy production kitchen.
• The operation comprises main kitchen, pastry, quality control.
• Working closely with the Head Chef to ensure the business ethos and premium fresh produce is delivered at all times to the multiple orders.
• Designing and developing season restaurant menus with the Head Chef
• Maintain a detailed knowledge of the full menu and be able to explain dish descriptions
• Ensure compliance with health and safety and food hygiene legislation
• Ensure all policies, procedures, standards, specifications, guidelines and training programs are carefully adhered to.
The Person
• Previous Sous Chef or Senior CDP experience in a high end environment
• Excellent product and seasonal knowledge of seasonal foods
• Real pride and a passion for what you do.
• A natural leader with the ability to inspire, motivate and direct a team of young chefs
• Event knowledge/experience desirable
• Attention to detail, with ability to follow high standards
• Level 2 Food hygiene is desirable
