Party Ingredients Catering Services is looking for an experienced Sous chef to join the production team, service team and contribute to kitchen management at our unit in Canary Wharf. This is a high volume, high quality kitchen with a permanent brigade.
We operate at the top end of the special events market and work in private homes, at art galleries and museums and other public and private buildings, catering for corporate and private clients, heads of state, government and the royal family. This is not an ordinary kitchen, our contracts range from small dinner parties to 800 cover state banquets that can take months of planning.
We are looking for the following qualities in this new appointment:
The ability to lead service at outside events
experience in responsibility for food production and the ability to lead small team, overseeing juniors whilst also contributing to production
Very good technical cooking ability
Passion for fresh, seasonal, sustainable local produce
Ability to work neatly at speed
Good personal discipline and presentation
experience in high volume and banqueting an advantage
The ability to follow recipes, take instruction, and instruct others clearly
The position requires 7 shifts over 5 days. Most of our events are during the week but during high season there will be weekend shifts - a day off is given in lieu.
