Beef and Brew is about to open its second site, this time in Hackney. Our first site, in Kentish Town, has been named as one of the best steakhouses in London by the Evening Standard, GQ, Hot Dinners and Open Table. Our second site will continue to have a focus on affordable steaks, but we’ll be adding some extra vegetable options, bar snacks and the odd seafood dish too.
We’re looking for a sous chef to help lead the kitchen team. We want a great working environment, with confident, talented chefs. Work should be fun, as well as serious. We’re not fans of the old school military environment with 100-hour weeks. We want a self-motivated and mature team that can deliver.

You should have the following skill set:
- Grill experience, in a high volume environment.
- An understanding of modern, high quality and simple food.
- Demonstrate a capacity to understand our menu and its evolving requirements.
- Management experience preferred but not essential.
- experience maintaining gross margins.
- An understanding of high standards of hygiene with associated HACCP requirements.
