The pub occupies a lovely spot on the town green in a residential area attracts a strong regular customer base. During the game season the Blucher also pulls in a big rugby crowd from further afield and maximises this trade with a popular outside bar and BBQ. Our staff need to be able to adapt quickly and are able to move from offering fantastic table service in the restaurant and greeting regulars in the bar to moving fast without compromising service during a busy Rugby day when the bar is deep with customers. The large garden lends itself well to BBQ’s which cater for our large rugby fan base so the ability to cope well under pressure is imperative. There is scope to extend the rugby offer to provide for a corporate market so experience catering for mass bookings is desired although not essential.
Of course, we have a huge focus on fresh ingredients and seasonality so a chef that is truly excited by curating menus is vital. Lastly, we’re looking for someone who is organised and self-motivated when it comes to keeping on top of paper work, stock and ordering.
