We are looking for a hard working, committed and talented Sous Chef for a large private household in North London with occasional travel to other properties. This is a role best suited to someone with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a professional or private kitchen who is looking for a long term role.
The Principals are internationally respected and who entertain a lot and often at short notice so versatility, speed and flexibility are essential. The kitchen operates to strict regulations and the finest fresh ingredients are used to produce delicious yet healthy meals. The successful applicant must also have very good people skills as they will be liaising with the Principal and other senior household staff on a daily basis and must be able to maintain a tidy and well-maintained kitchen, have knowledge of global cuisines and be a perfectionist in their work. There are specific dietary requirements that must be adhered to, and the Principal does eat specific menus as devised by a doctor, so the patience to work within set Bounds for 80% of the time is required. This is not a role where you will often be able to show case your “talent” but you must be able to cook exacting, beautifully presented and nutritionally balanced food consistently and perfectly.
Hours: 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off working alongside an Executive Head Chef.
Location: north west london.
Salary: Dependent on experience.
Start date: immediate.

Notes: Accommodation can be provided.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
Provide lunch and dinner for the Principals, their family and guests Monday-Friday.
Be on call 24/7 if required
Ensure all kitchen standards are adhered to.
Ensure quality of ingredients
Ensuring impeccable hygiene standards are kept.
Develop recipes and formal event menus
Documenting menus and reporting
Cost control
Manage supplies, purchases and records
Occasional weekend work
Occasional travel with the family
Candidates must be / have:
Able to provide high quality, well thought out and flavoursomefoods at all times for a varying number of diners.
Prepared to be flexible when required and work long hours when needed.
Good team ethics and happy to work flexibly when required.
Have a diploma or equivalent culinary education.
Very capable technically with a creativity and flair for attractive, nutritious menus.
Precise eye for detail
Excellent communication skills
At least 5 years’ experience within a top flight professional or private kitchen.
An interest in healthy, nutritional menus, and global cuisine.
Perfect written and spoken English
