The Berrylands is a large, busy locals pub that caters to a wide range of people from university sports teams to families and OAPs. We operate a successful kitchen and have a strong reputation for providing freshly cooked, hearty meals. The food we offer is a mixture of traditional pub dishes such as fish and chips and sausage and Mash and also more creative meals which feature on our specials board. Sundays are one of our busiest days as our roasts are particularly popular in the area.
Throughout the year, we run very successful food themed evenings. For Burns night we had a Scottish 6 course taster menu and prior to that, we had an Italian themed evening.
Responsibilities and Duties
We are looking to recruit a Sous Chef to help support our small and friendly kitchen team.
Supporting our Head Chef, you will perform all of the usual tasks such as food preparation, cooking, ordering and stock management. However, as we are an independent pub, you will also have the opportunity to contribute towards menu development and to provide ideas on food led events which will help to build sales.
Qualifications and Skills
Ideally, you will have at least one years experience of working as a Chef in a similar environment.
You must be a genuine team player, passionate about food, have high standards and an eye for detail. We want someone with high energy levels who is going to keep on pushing us to do even better.
You must be willing to work evenings and weekends. We look forward to receiving your application.
