Backstage Production Assistants needed for Macbeth and Hansel and Gretel
WHO WE ARE
Iris Theatre was created in 2007 to produce work at the world-famous St. Paul’s Church in Covent Garden. As a charity, beyond our core production and performance team, we collaborate with volunteers who help make our shows happen.
After the success of 2021, with the productions of Much Ado About Nothing and Treasure Island getting Rave reviews and earning 5 Off West Award nominations, including one Off-West win for Treasure Island, Iris Theatre returns for its 10th year with two exciting new productions: Macbeth and Hansel and Gretel.
Who we are looking for ?
We are looking for a team of Production Assistant volunteers, perhaps with some experience in a theatre environment, to help out with our summer season shows – Macbeth and Hansel and Gretel. This will involve supporting the day-to-day BACKSTAGE work during the run of the shows.
Each year our pool of volunteers brings energy, commitment and life to our projects, and we are truly appreciative for all of their efforts. You will be able to play an important part in our unique work by making a real and satisfying contribution.
What we offer ?
The volunteer programme is very flexible and we can provide tailored opportunities to get involved which fit around your other commitments. This is a great opportunity to practice and Hone existing stage management skills, learn new ones and work within a warm friendly environment towards a set of common goals. You will also have the opportunity to see the making of a show, assist to some rehearsals and play an active part in our theatre.

Rehearsals: 22 May to 16 June 2022
Tech/ Get in: 17 June to 21 June 2022
Run: 21 June to 29 July 2022
OR/AND
Hansel and Gretel
Rehearsals: 3 July to 28 July 2022
Tech / Get in: 30 July to 3 August 2022
Run: 3 August to 3 September 2022
Production assistant volunteers will gain the most out of this experience if they can join us in the final weeks of rehearsals and stay with us for the entire duration of one of the two shows. This can be flexible and discussed during an interview.
