About the Job:
An opportunity has arisen for a Pastry Sous Chef to join our Pastry Kitchen here at Jumeirah Carlton Tower.
The main purpose of the role is:
To assist the Head Pastry Chef in writing standard recipes which allow the restaurant to run at an acceptable food cost.
To assist the Head Pastry Chef in minimizing payroll costs by maximising productivity and efficient scheduling of employees.
To support the other Chefs in their day-to-day tasks.
To assist the Executive Chef in developing menus and ‘specials’ which meet the needs of the customer.
To assist in writing and updating the relevant section/s of the Departmental Operations Manual.
To check and ensure highest quality and freshness of food/product.
Instruct and demonstrate all new dishes to colleagues.
Report to Executive Chef /Executive Sous Chef on daily running of the kitchen.
About you:
The ideal candidate for this position will have the following skills and experience:
Essential
Basic Food Hygiene, NVQL3 food preparation or equivalent.
Previous 5*hotel experience
Excellent level of English
Friendly, approachable and professional
Desirable
experience in a Kitchen of a similar level.
