Franco’s first opened in 1946 and is considered by many to be one of the first Italian restaurants in London. The restaurant’s sister restaurant is Wiltons also on Jermyn Street, both of which are owned by the Hambros family.
The restaurant compromises of a bar area, main dining room and a basement area which can be used as two Private Dining rooms or additional seating for the restaurant.
Franco’s is open all day for breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner Monday to Saturday.
Franco’s has recently undergone a fabulous redecoration in January 2015 to celebrate our 10 year anniversary this year.
We are looking for a Professional Head Waiter - Waitress to join our team.
Ideal Candidate:
-Will be confident and a naturally good communicator.
-Will have a high level of awareness and an ability to anticipate guest needs.
-Have the ability to speak and understand and write in English fluently.
-Will have a good general knowledge of Italian and Mediterranean cuisine.
-Will have at least 1 years’ experience as a Head Waiter or Supervisor in a similar sized restaurant.
-experience in serving different styles of dishes and their accompaniments.
-Be able to work in an fast paced and pressured restaurant environment.
-Have experience and a good awareness of opportunities to improving sales.
-Have exceptional customer service and communication skills.
-Have a good knowledge of the different grape varieties and wine styles.
-A working knowledge of spirits and classic cocktails.
-Will take pride in their appearance and be well-presented and groomed at all times.
The Role and Duties:
-Ensuring the restaurant is correctly set up and ready for the following service.
-Managing a section in the restaurant of between 8 and 11 tables.
-Be able to support and supervise the waiters assisting you during the service.
-Overseeing the smooth service of the guests arrival to departure.
-Use of the point of sales system, knowledge of TISSL, would be advantageous but not necessary.
-Take food orders according to the guests desires.
-Being able to recommend dishes based on the information provided by the guest.
-Be able to professionally open a bottle of wine at the table.
-Be able to maintain the restaurant standards and exceed the guests expectations.
-Adhere to the restaurant Health and Safety policy, responsibilities and obligations.
