Head Chef / Kitchen Manager
This upbeat New York style café restaurant has an immediate vacancy for a well organised Head Chef/Kitchen Manager.
Open 8.00am to 4.00pm 7 days a week the café serves artisan coffee, awesome breakfast rolls and pastries, hot New York Deli sandwiches, an all-day brunch, In-house specials and NYC pancakes for both eat in and take away. This is a high volume fresh food operation and gets very busy at peak times, everything is cooked to order from an open theatre cook line.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated chef to run this unit. You will be responsible for all aspects of the day to day running of your kitchen reporting directly to the owners.
Duties will include:
All food production and delivery
Quality assurance
Ordering, stock management and wastage
The kitchen budget and General Practitioner.
compliance with all statutory legislation and regulations.
Food safety and hygiene
Staff training and retention
The ideal candidate will have a solid background in good food with several years’ experience in a busy, high-volume, fresh food kitchen.
This will be a fast-paced working environment and we are looking for a resilient, hard-working, self-aware and reliable chef with passion and energy.
Good work/life balance, 5-day week, daytime only.
Starting salary: £28,000 + bonus
