This is a special place to work, creating classic British food for a dining room of 45 covers and a traditional downstairs bar. All the food here is made fresh in house by a skilled team of five chefs, and you could be right at the heart of it. As the Head Chef of The Lamb and Flag, you will earn a salary of £32,000 per year - in addition to the following benefits:

28 Days annual leave
Discretionary bonus of up to 15% of salary.

Your role at The Lamb and Flag
Home to classic British cooking, The Lamb and Flag enjoys a reputation for tasty, traditional food crafted from fine seasonal produce. Tables at this busy, bustling tourist pub can turn up to three times every service, so you can certainly expect a real buzz in the kitchen.
As Head Chef, you’ll not only lead the service and Hone the menu, but also have control over the recruitment and development of your team. You’ll teach them the skills they need in your kitchen, as well as helping them to take advantage of our scholarship programme or apprentice scheme to grow into well trained and successful chefs.
In all your work, you will have the guidance of the General Manager and Executive Chef, supporting you every step of the way.

Our food offer reflects our emphasis on high-quality seasonal British food, locally sourced and prepared in-house, so you will need to have demonstrable experience in delivering consistently great dishes.

Kitchen leadership skills - with proven results in delivering profitability and happy customers.
A balance of creative flair and business acumen - able to plan, cost and deliver new dishes.
Organisational skills - able to maintain effective control of both General Practitioner and labour costs.
Exceptional knowledge of food hygiene legislation - able to maintain high standards of cleanliness in your kitchen.
