We are looking for an assistant manager to join our lovely team!
The Gallery Cafe is a busy vegan cafe in the heart of Bethnal Green. We are a not-for-profit project and part of St. Margaret's House charity.
We are currently recruiting an assistant manager to support the general manager. Your role would be very varied in terms of running shifts, completing reports, ordering stock and managing the team. You would also be very much engaged in helping to drive the business forward.
The right candidate for the role should be passionate about great quality coffee and service ideally an interest in veganism. The hours are variable but quite favourable for the hospitality industry as although some shifts finish at 11.30pm most are done by 8.30pm at the latest. This would be a 40 hour per week salaried position.
Essential Criteria:
* experience of managing and training staff
* experience of making coffee
* Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
* Excellent knowledge of using, programming and analysing EPOS systems
Desirable Criteria:
* Barista skills including latte art and basic technical knowledge of coffee machines
* Ability to write and cost menus
* experience working with juice
* Some kitchen experience
* Waiting experience
