Wage / Salary: £34,320.00 gross per annum / £12.00 gross per hour
Driver required? Essential, with own car, mileage will be paid.
Essential experience: Working with children with ASD, preferably of similar age.
Start Date: as soon as possible
Days and Hours: Monday to Friday 7.00am to 6.00pm (Advanced notice given if required slightly earlier in mornings or later in evenings.) Contract is a minimum of 9 months.
We are delighted to be working in association with a private client on this position. They will be carrying out all recruitment once candidate CVs have been forwarded.
Josh aged 11 is an energetic character who enjoys cycling, scooting, outdoor activities as well as music, reading and baking. Josh has no formal diagnosis, but presents with autistic traits. He attends a mainstream school and is described as very high functioning.
The role will involve meal preparation, taking and collecting Josh from school and extra-curricular activities and clubs. You will play a key role in liaising with the school and attending key meetings along with parents. You will ensure Josh’s school kit is kept up to date and order any supplies when needed.
During the evenings, you will support Josh with his homework and help plan and set additional exercises to help his learning in key areas. There will be some light household duties such as washing and ironing of Josh’s clothes / bedding and ordering food ingredients for Josh’s meals. These tasks can be carried out mostly when Josh is at school.
This job will suit someone who has a degree of flexibility, great communication skills and is very reliable. It is imperative you are able to work as part of a team with parents, school and external expert providers to help Josh in everything he needs to overcome his challenges and be as prepared for life and success as he can be.
The nanny will also be required to be Ofsted registered which the family will discuss with you.
