A family living in the Islington area are looking for three highly motivated, enthusiastic and experienced Support Workers to support a young man with Autism.
Assistance is needed mostly with accompanying and assisting the young person to attend social activities and events, with some supervision with personal care, and preparing simple meals when necessary.
You should ideally be an experienced Support Worker, including experience working with behaviour requiring personal support, be able to demonstrate good communication skills (including writing daily logs and reflections) and interpersonal skills, and have the ability to work both as part of a team and on your own initiative. A basic understanding of Autism is essential, and enthusiasm in supporting and motivating the person in the community is preferred.
Each position is for a total of 10 hours per week, supporting the young person on a 2:1 basis with another worker, on some of the following shifts/days, but may vary according to the service user’s needs.
Wednesdays - 10:00-16:00, Thursdays - 10:00-16:00 and Saturdays - 10:00-15:30
Also you may be required to provide temporary cover of annual leave, sickness or as and when needed.
Work Permit and References essential to this post. This job is subject to DBS disclosure (current DBS check accepted, and a new check will be conducted when in post). NOT Cash in Hand.
Pay and Benefits:
Hourly rate - £14.00 gross per hour before deductions
Paid Annual Leave: 5.6 weeks per year pro rata of paid leave
