Job description:
Independence Way is a semi-independent provider of accommodation and bespoke support for 16 to 18 year Olds. At Independence Way quality support and guidance, in a caring and safe environment, is our standard norm. We encourage our young people to aim high and to develop a positive mind-set towards life.
We are seeking a live in Support Worker to join our friendly team within a Semi-independent accommodation.

What we are looking for:
·         A calm, adaptable and enthusiastic person.
·         Someone who can support our young people gain vital skills such as cooking, cleaning, shopping and budgeting.
·         Someone with the ability to work both alone and as part of a team with young people.
·         An organised individual with good administration skills that can write reports.
Responsibilities of Live in Support Worker:
·         Supporting young people with important everyday tasks such as cooking, cleaning, shopping, budgeting, medical appointments etc.
·         Preparing our young people to live independently in the future, teaching them important life skills.
·         Safeguarding the young people within our care and raising concerns if necessary.
·         Take deliberate initiatives to develop appropriate relationships with young people, some of who may present with challenging behaviours, so as to understand their needs and feelings and respond to them accordingly.
·         Build positive relationships with external agencies and stake-holders including social services and education providers.
