Sous Chef Required in London

A weekday only restaurant, we specialise in simple seasonal food, mainly British and Mediterranean dishes, all cooked fresh each morning from a daily changing menu. We are consistently voted to the top of the City's best restaurants on Opentable.
You will take control of the kitchen when the head chef is not present. You must have a positive attitude, get on with everyone, work tidily, cleanly and with a constant eye on food safety. You will sometimes be responsible for ordering.
You should be comfortable running the pass, cooking meat and fish to order, working all sections in the kitchen and be able to train junior staff. You will be happy to manage other kitchen staff and ensure everything that goes out of the kitchen is of the highest standards, taking responsibility for others' food as well as your own.
We are a small family business and need everyone to pull together so you must do what is needed in and out of the kitchen.
With Monday to Friday opening, we can offer sociable hours and free weekends! (mostly). We start at 6.45am and finish 3.30-4pm usually.
Starting pay is £9.50 an hour, rising to a maximum of £11 an hour once you you have shown you can manage the kitchen satisfactorily. You will work hours as needed, minimum 40. With seasonal overtime you will earn over £23000 if you meet all performance requirements. There is some evening work and very occasional weekend work - a couple of times a year at most! 28 days holiday a year and we usually close over Christmas and New Year.
