An established upmarket / casual brand in Notting Hill require an experienced Sous Chef for a busy Asian Restaurant with a menu derived mostly from Chinese, Malaysian and Thai with most dishes coming from the wok.
The role would suit someone who is professional that would want to be part of the creative drive to further the business and respond to new trends in the Asian food market. The restaurant has a loyal discerning cliental and is busy, occupying a great location.
As a Sous Chef you will need to ensure the smooth running of the kitchen and ensure that the highest of standards are maintained. experience on a wok would be important but not essential as training is given.
With further expansion plans ahead for the brand this roll could develop.
You will need to be equipped with the skills to run a high-volume busy kitchen and be able to work in a small team. We take our food very seriously and only want to provide the best experience to our loyal customers.
You will assist the Head Chef in driving the business forward using your experience and assist in creating an exciting and continuously changing menu, while controlling costs (Food and labour). Constantly build, motivate and develop your team to ensure onsite motivation and engagement.

experience:
Sous Chef for minimum 2-3 Years
Pan Asian / Chinese Cuisine experience is useful but not essential
Seasonal fresh produce
Excellent communication skills and have a clear grasp of spoken and written English, be personable and self-confident
A knowledge of current cookery trends and techniques used in Pan Asian kitchens is useful
