Working Hrs: 5 Days / 6 Shifts (42 hrs)

Stunning Middle Eastern 50-seat Restaurant Café in SW London – offering authentic regional cooking inspired by the Arabian Gulf – commitment to sourcing the very best ingredients from artisan UK and International suppliers; all made in house on a daily basis from high spec open kitchen.
Menus: breakfast / lunch / dinner (rolling menu changes)
Kitchen open from 8.00am to 10.00pm / 9.00pm on Sundays (7 days operation)
Opening to Rave reviews and ongoing press interest – external catering and delivery service also available. Forward-thinking, trend-leading independent group with expansion planned.
Supporting the Owner-Chef in all aspects of kitchen management with small brigade (2 – 3 chefs and KAs). Duties include:
Menu planning – input and ideas encouraged
Deputising in the Chef’s absence: team direction and organisation, coordinating volume mise en place (fresh daily) for smooth fast paced all day service (mise en place intensive to facilitate quick dish assembly)
Food ordering, stock management, supplier relations and invoices, monthly stock audits, maintaining General Practitioner target, food wastage control
Team training and development, compliance and HACCP files and procedures, maintenance of kitchen and equipment

Desired Attributes
This would suit a creative Jnr / Sous chef who loves to cook and plan menus and has a good grasp of Middle Eastern cooking and ingredients.
Required skill set – confident at running service; strong plating and presentation skills; good communication and organisation levels; ability to work methodically; motivating and encouraging the team accordingly.
Salary and Benefits
Starting on £30,000 pa
Permanent contract subject to standard 3 months probationary period; regular performance related salary reviews; courses as required; new openings; workplace pension option; 28 days standard leave; staff discounts; meals on duty; laundered uniform; FAM trips and team excursions
approximately. 42 hrs p wk / 6 shifts over 5 days incl. Weekends
