This is a Friday, 10 am to 4 pm, term time only job, to support a severely disabled young man (wheelchair user with cerebral palsy) at a group with drama and creative activities (starting in September).
He has two carers, so you would be assisting another carer with personal care, lunchtime, hoisting etc. And helping him access drama and creative activities. If you enjoy the arts, then this job would be very enjoyable for you. He describes this small, informal group as "like a family".
He is severely disabled physically, but not mentally, and he has a great sense of humour and enjoys acting, movies, theatre. He is looking for someone who is fun, with a sense of humour, and who is patient, kind, and reliable. He has dyslexia, so he needs someone to read to him occasionally.
The group is in Lingfield, Surrey, and he would either meet you there, or there is transport available from Wallington, Surrey. experience of working with the disabled would be preferable, but not essential if you have the right character for the job.
You would need to provide, or agree to, an enhanced DBS (police check), and speak fluent English.
£11.25 An hour (which includes pro rata holiday pay)
