LOVENbakery is a café/bakery/wine bar opened in Hale Village November 2022. We are looking for a Assistant Chef to work in collaboration with our Head Chef as well as directing shifts alone. We are particularly interested in people who consider themselves professionals in hospitality and therefore have a professional attitude towards the job. People with skills and experience of working in a busy cafe style environment, making brunch dishes, salads, hot dish ie: 'dish of the day'cakes and desserts, main course dishes, meat, fish etc. Must be able to work well and problem solve under pressure; are friendly, positive and enthusiastic.
Duties
- Daily preparation and 'mise en place' for service.
- Working with the baker to develope bread, pastries, cakes.
- Creating daily salads and hot main courses.
- Dealing with suppliers and ordering if necessary.
- Organizing and controlling stock and efficient storage.
- Ensuring the kitchen and equipment is kept clean and tidy.
- Leading a small team when necessary to ensure an efficient service and high quality food.
- Adhering to food hygiene and food safety regulations in terms of appearance, practice and.
Discipline.
- Creating new recipes, dishes and menus when necessary.

Requirements
- A friendly and positive attitude, with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Proven experience as a chef in a similar environment.
- Must be able to work alone as well as part of a team.
- Credentials in health and safety training.
