This is a really lovely job for a live in housekeeper who wants to work for a friendly couple. They have a beautiful home on the London/Surrey border - it is a 30 minute journey into Central London. Driving is not needed for this job ( - if do you drive there is a car for you to use.)
They have two older teenage children but they are away at boarding school.
Your role is very much to help them run the house. Although you need to be 'hands on' there is a weekend housekeeper and a cleaner who comes in on a Monday to do the 'heavy cleaning' as this is the busiest day of the week. So your role will be to keep the house cleaned and well presented for the week after the Cleaner leaves, laundry and ironing, changing beds and other household linen, some general shopping, meeting and greeting guests and serving refreshments. You do not need to drive for this role as the family have a driver - If you do drive there is a car for you to use. The lady of the house does most of the cooking but you may be asked to make a simple supper occasionally. The family have dogs which you may sometimes be asked to walk in the house's grounds.
It is essential that you have worked as a housekeeper in a private household for a minimum of 3 years with suitable references. They may also consider someone who has worked at a top level hotel and is looking to move into working in a private household. You must also speak good English, be able to organise your own work, and have a warm friendly personality.
This is a Monday to Friday role - hours will be discussed at interview but will be approximately 7am to 7pm with breaks during the day. Your accommodation will be in a separate part of the house and you will have your own lovely bedroom and private bathroom, and there is a kitchen on the floor which you are able to use. Salary will be £400 net per week - negotiable for a top candidate.
