We are an Irish/French family living in Chislehurst, 15 minutes by train from central London. We are looking for a caring, responsible, flexible and experienced Au Pair to help look after our 2 little boys aged 3 and 7 years. The 7 year old goes to school every day from 8.55am - 3pm, and our 3 year old is at nursery half days.
We live in a large and modern house, and there is a park with a playground opposite the house. The house is 2 minutes from the local high street that is filled with cafes, shops and restaurants. There are plenty of local bus routes and a train station. Your studio room is 30m2 featuring a double bed, your own bathroom, walk-in wardrobe, flat screen TV, couch, coffee table, desk and pc. This ensures your own private space in the evenings and weekends. You will also be provided with a work smartphone.
We are non-smokers and do not accept Au Pairs that smoke, nor is alcohol drinking permitted in the house. Please discuss with the family first if you wish to have a visitor or friend to the house.
Both parents work Monday - Friday. Normal working hours are between 7am to 6.15pm.
Typical timetable Monday to Friday:
- Prepare and feed the children breakfast, lunch and dinner.
- Dress them in the morning and walk to school on time.
- Take and collect from nursery/school (walking distance)
- During the day with the 3 year old - playtime, outdoor activities in the garden/park/playground and prepare for daily nap.
- Do children's laundry during the week
- Keep downstairs children area clean and tidy : kitchen, play-room, tv room.
- Organise play dates as appropriate, get to know the other school Mums, nannies and teachers.
- Sometimes do bath time after dinner and put the children to bed after bedtime story (if doing extra babysitting)
- Regular and pro-active communication with parents throughout the day.
We can pay a competitive salary, and offer 20 paid annual leave days per year. Your living conditions are excellent as described above.
You will be treated as part of the family and also live as independently as you like. We will pay extra for any babysitting. experience with the age group of 3 - 7 is a plus.
