Live-In Au Pair wanted to start from December 2022 to help looking after 14 year old girl in a comfortable family home in Bromley, South East London. 
We are looking for an honest, caring female au pair who will help us with the smooth running of our home. We are a small family of 4 with 2 lovely daughters, one of whom is at university. Our younger 14 year old daughter is on the autistic spectrum and has special needs. Languages used at home are English and Polish as mum is Polish, so Polish au pairs are very welcome!
We are looking for applications from females who are available for one-to-one interview, possibly also on Skype, do not require a working UK visa and are prepared to commit to at least one year of employment and can be flexible with working hours.
Our younger daughter is a very happy child but she needs a special approach and help with her communication and gross and fine motor skills. We are potentially looking for someone who has interest and experience in special needs. Our daughter attends a school that teaches using ABA behavioral therapy. In order to make her progress we need to plan her after school activities so we need someone who will be creative, proactive, and reliable but above all, someone who genuinely loves children and will be a great carer and companion for our girl. Good English, some childcare experience and references are necessary.
Your job will require to work around our girl’s school schedule. You will be looking after her Monday-Friday from 7am till 8:10am (till the car picks her up to go to school), and from 4:30-7:30pm term time and full time during school half term holidays. In addition we require 2 nights monitoring (duties will require the overnight monitoring on sleep monitor, in case she wakes up twice a week, parents will cover all other nights) and occasional babysitting (no more than once a week). Our daughter’s needs are our priority so we need someone who will be flexible, responsible and will be at home in case she is unwell.
Other responsibilities outside of caring for our daughter will include walking the dog once a day to a nearby park (small Westie) and general au pair/housekeeping duties like help with laundry, loading and empting dish washer, light housework, cooking for our daughter especially evening meals and some ironing and general tidying up. We employ a cleaner for heavy duty cleaning once a week.
We pay £200 per week in term time and £300 per week during half term school holidays (approximately 15 weeks pa) unless we are on family holiday, where the rate is on school terms level. The hours are 35 per week in term times which includes 2 nights monitoring and 1 night max babysitting and 7-8 hours cleaning and ironing per week. Weekends are free. If additional hours are required, or we need weekend cover we’ll pay extra and agree outside of weekly rates. We also expect our au pair to travel with family on summer holiday, usually 2 weeks in nice locations in Europe.
