Live in au Pair Required

Posted: Today
Place: Kilburn, London

Hi, We are a warm, welcoming family living in Queens Park, who have had good experiences with aupairs.
We are looking for a flexible, energetic, fun and patient female au pair for our 3 children and ideally someone who speaks a good level of english. Its a lively, busy household with lots going on so we are looking for someone who likes to get involved and be part of our family.
In return, we offer a friendly family to live with, a bedroom and ensuite shower room on your own floor, and a great location. We are lucky enough to live in a spacious house with a big garden, in Queens Park / Kensal Rise, a leafy area of North-west London. Within 10 minutes walk we have cafes, bars, a great independent cinema, restaurants and shops and a lovely park, with lots of aupairs in the area. We have good transport links, buses, trains and the tube, its takes just 20 minutes to get into the west end of London by tube.
We have been let down at the last minute so we are looking for a start date as soon as possible.
.
About us :
We have 2 girls and a boy, and a lovely small dog, a brown Cocker Spaniel, so it would be great if our new aupair likes dogs.
Our eldest daughter - Lottie - is 10 years , she always has a lot to say for herself, a lively chatterbox, who enjoys school, gymnastics, netball and trampolining.
Next is Joey who is 8, he is a very energetic member of the family and talks and plays a lot of football. He also loves helping to cook, playing table-tennis and watching TV!
Our youngest is Abi, she is 5 years and is very good at ensuring everyone is listening to her and clapping at anything she does well. Abi has Down syndrome which means she has various development delays, including her speech which is delayed compared to others her age but she is doing really well, exceeding expectations. Abi is our cheekiest child, very funny and affectionate and adored by the entire wider family.
All 3 children go to our local school, approximately 10 Mins walk from home.
Then there is James, who runs his own business, who is good fun and likes a tidy house! Finally, me, Natasha, mum of the 3 children and newly trained as a counsellor for children in school. I work 3 days a week.
.
About the job :
Hours will tend to be the same each week, a few hours pre-school and again after school, approximately 7.30 - 10 and then 3.30 – 7.00. We would like up to 2 x babysitting per week, ideally one of these being a weekend night, usually a Saturday night. Occasionally there may be some extra work available if wanted, and we would pay additionally for this.
Tasks for Au Pair would be something like this : Help get the children ready in the morning, help with school drop off and pick ups when needed, walking the dog (generally 3 or 4 times per week). On days Natasha is working the au pair would have sole charge of the 3 children after school, while the rest of the week, they would be an extra pair of hands. Tasks would include picking up children from school, making them supper, taking / picking up from after school activities and supervising play dates with other children. On some nights our aupair would help out with bathtime and getting the children ready for bed. During the week the children tend to be quite busy, but they do also at times require some entertaining, so we are keen on an au pair who is happy to come up with ideas of activities, whether it's football, trampolining, table-tennis in the garden, or arts and crafts, cooking inside, or taking them out to the park.
We do have a cleaner, but we’d like help with usual household chores such as laundry, dishwasher and helping keep the children’s rooms and play areas tidy.
Weekends and time during the day would be free apart from babysitting.
We'd like our au pair to enjoy being with children, to have the patience that is needed with children, particularly one with special needs. Because Abi is our youngest and also has special needs, it's likely that the au pair will spend more time with her than the older.
2. Abi is incredibly loving, cheeky and good fun, but having Down syndrome does mean she is developmentally delayed and we would be keen on an au pair who is able to be patient with her and assist her when required.
We would like someone who, is reliable, responsible, fun but also strict at times when necessary. We'd also like someone who is prepared to commit to work till the end of July.
Please get in touch if this sounds like a position you may fancy, telling me what appeals to you and why you may be a good match.
Thank you!
Natasha.
