New opportunity not to be missed! Young’s has a unique opportunity available for a Chef to join the team in Brixton. The role is a full time or part time, permanent or temporary position offering a salary of £8 per hour plus excellent benefits.
The hope and anchor is due to reopen shortly after a refurbishment and we are looking for friendly, fun people to join our kitchen team.
Pubs have been at the very heart of Young’s since the Company was established in 1831, and today we have over 170 pubs and hotels, from contemporary vibrant pubs to small warm and friendly traditional favourites at the heart of their community.
Our pubs provide our customers with a well-balanced and exciting choice of both food and drink, and our award winning design approach is unique to each pub and hotel. Our food offer reflects our emphasis on high quality seasonal British food, locally sourced and prepared in-house. Our pubs deliver individual menus according to the needs of their community and customer base. We believe in developing our people to delight our customers.
What are the responsibilities of the Chef?
You will be responsible for preparing and presenting all our food dishes to the expected standard of presentation and food hygiene regulations at all times. You will complete opening, close down and set-up procedures to the desired standard ensuring all kitchen areas are clean and comply with legislative standards. You will also adhere to licensing, food safety and health and safety legislation ensuring our pubs are safe for team and customers alike.
What do we look for in a Chef?
Our food offer reflects our emphasis on high quality seasonal British food, locally sourced and prepared in-house and our Head Chefs and their team have the autonomy to deliver their own individual dishes according to the needs and wants of our customers.
We are looking an individual with the willingness to learn new skills and commitment to standards and service. You will be passionate about working with fresh food and thrive on a fast paced working environment with a desire to work as part of a team. You’ll get lots of training, learn about all our menu and suppliers and have a good time along the way.
