The Lido Café is a busy Art Deco poolside café bar and restaurant, situated in beautiful Brockwell Park. It serves Modern British food from breakfast until late, plus craft Beers and wine. We’re now looking for an enthusiastic and professional Kitchen Assistant to be part of our lively kitchen team.
Vacancy
The successful candidate will have at least 1 years’ experience working in a professional kitchen and be a reliable, proven team player with a can-do attitude. An interest in food preparation and the desire to progress in the kitchen environment is desirable. Training and development will be offered to the right candidate.
The position is permanent, subject to probationary period and full or part time available depending on candidate. Hours will be worked over any of the seven days with regular work at evenings and weekends.

Job Description: Kitchen Assistant
Job Purpose:
To support chefs to cook and present food to excellent standards, maintaining a clean and
hygienic kitchen and restaurant environment.
Main Duties
1. Consistently maintaining a clean and hygienic environment in the kitchen and storage
areas, to the consistently high standards of preparation and presentation set by the Head Chef and General Manager.
2. Cleaning all cutlery, crockery, food preparation and cooking equipment prior to, during the course of, and after daily food and drinks service.
3. Liaising with bar staff and the chefs to support them in presenting a professional service to customers.
4. Assisting with food preparation and service as requested by chefs.
5. Taking deliveries an storing stock safely (e.g. At the correct temperature), plus ensuing it is rotated so that older stock is used first.
6. Following all Food Hygiene, Kitchen Cleaning and other health and safety responsibilities at all times.
7. Undertaking such administration as requested for the effective recording of health and safety and cleaning tasks.
8. Undertaking any other duties which may be reasonably requested of you by the Company for the effective functioning of the kitchen or cinema and to maximize its business.
