SPUNTINO is looking for a junior sous chef to join the team in Soho, central London.
Spuntino opened 2011 and is located in the heart of London's Soho red-light district. We are part of the POLPO group and take our inspiration from Prohibition-style speakeasy cocktail bars in Downtown New York.
Our menu offers small plates designed for sharing including mac n’ cheese, truffled egg toast, eggplant chips and pulled pork sliders, and our cocktails are famous for offering a wide selection of bourbons and homebrews such as Horseradish Vodka, Dill Gin and Apple Pie Bourbon.
POLPO Ltd operates some of the most talked about restaurants, under the leadership of BBC2’s ‘Restaurant Man’ Russell Norman. POLPO Soho opened in October 2009 to immediate acclaim and we have since opened ten restaurants across London, Brighton, Bristol and Exeter.
As a Junior Sous Chef you will be responsible for the running of the kitchen in line with the senior chefs, reporting to the Head Chef, and ensuring that the back of house team are able to deliver consistent and excellent food throughout lunch and dinner service.
Personal requirements:
To be successful in this role you will need to have previous experience of working in busy restaurants. You will be passionate about the industry with enthusiasm for your role.
In addition to these skills you will have:
Some knowledge of Italian/American cuisine
Good organisational skills
Strong work ethic
Strong communication skills and teamwork skills
An interest in development and training
Excellent command of English plus valid passport and visa
Good references.
