Position: Head Chef
Operation: Neighbourhood Gastro and Terrace
Location: North London
Salary: £32k and £3k tronc and £5k bonus pa
Working Hrs: 5 Days / 7 Shifts

Part of an established group, this beautiful neighbourhood Gastro with large double-Terrace has a loyal local following.
Food: offering a monthly changing modern British menu and daily board in the rustic style showcasing best in season produce sourced from small artisan suppliers (quality / provenance) – nice mix of gastro grill classics and bistro-styled dishes, small and sharing plates alongside traditional roast on Sundays.
Kitchen hrs: from 12 noon to 9.00pm / 10.00pm
Av. £4,000 to £6,000 weekly net food sales – scope to build.
Role Description
Responsible for all aspects of kitchen management, working closely with the General Manager and support of a Sous Chef and small kitchen brigade, duties include:
Daily menu planning incl. Costing and specification sheets
Running service, team direction and organisation, maintaining high food quality and service standards
Food ordering, stock management, supplier relations and invoices, weekly stock audits, maintaining 70% General Practitioner target
Hiring, team training and development, rotas, personnel files
Kitchen admin and figure reporting (P and L)
Due diligence: maintaining Food Safety and HACCP records, maintenance of kitchen and equipment
Supported and reporting to the Area Executive chef: forward-thinking / standards-orientated company with focus on guest experience and business development. New 2022 openings confirmed.
Desired Attributes
This role would suit an up and coming Head Chef with a good grasp of seasonal ingredients who loves to be creative, developing menus with quality and current trends in mind.
A chef who has lots of energy and drive with good organisation / people skills.
Salary and Benefits
£32,000 basic and est. £3,000 tronc (4-week pay cycle) and £5,000 annual bonus (paid quarterly)
Package of £40,000 pa – rising in line with net food sales
Permanent contract subject to standard 3 months probationary period: excellent opportunities of movement within the group (new openings, etc); regular salary reviews / courses as required; in-house training (e.g. BOH systems); 5% workplace pension option; 28 days paid annual leave; FAM trips; team excursions; staff / group discounts; laundered uniform; meals on duty; Area Executive chef progression opportunities over the long term (2 – 3 + years / dependent on experience)
approximately. 46 – 50 hrs p wk / 7 shifts over 5 days incl. Weekends
