Head Chef - Manor House Wanstead
LOCATION
Manor House is an independent gastro pub in Wanstead, E11 - 100 yards from the nearest tube station - Wanstead on The Central Line.
THE ROLE
We are looking for an experienced Head Chef to join our team, inspire and lead by
example.
The candidate must have a proven track record and experience of working in a fast-
paced environment and catering for high volume service together with a good working knowledge and understanding of Health and Safety, Legislation and Good Working Practices to ensure that we remain compliant.
The chef joining our team will share our passion for the product and be committed to
producing food with outstanding taste and that looks great on the plate. Practical
knowledge of running a kitchen with strong hygiene levels with food prepared safely that
meets our company standards.
Our outgoing Head Chef has created a kitchen environment that emphasises "teamwork" He has encouraged creativity where members of the kitchen team can share their ideas and
input on the menu. Some great foundations have been put in place. However, this is an
opportunity to join the business, build on these foundations and put your stamp on the
menu, continuing the successful growth of this business. Attention to detail plays a big part
in everything that we do
.
We invite applications from either a current Head Chef or Experienced Sous Chef who wants to work in a professional and friendly environment. It is important to emphasise that we believe in a good work life balance.
THE BUSINESS
As for the business, Manor House is an independent pub and not part of any big "pub chain" we see an opportunity, we make a decision and do it. We are a real locals pub, destination venue and hub of the community – a great wine menu, 25 + Beers on keg and cask and fresh food served 7 days a week. We trade over 3 areas - pub with dining room / first floor dining and events room and large beer garden. We aim to deliver great quality, freshly prepared, home-cooked food using local suppliers.
Summer is here and our garden is already coming into life, it can seat 200 people, so when
we are busy, we are busy.
We open from 10am daily and serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. Saturdays we serve brunch
from 10am though until 4pm leading into dinner and Sunday is all about delivering the best
roast around.
The small print bit, the usual 28 days a year holiday / Chef Whites Provided / coffee, tea and
the occasional biscuit, etc.
The package - £30,000 - £32,000 with bonus options based on performance.
All applicants must be able to provide eligibility to work in the UK, provide National
Insurance Number, have their own bank account and to be able to pride 2 references.
