For any General Manager, Fuller’s is a special company to work for. You’ll get lots of help and support from Head Office when you need it, but also plenty of encouragement to put your own spin on the pub.
You can take plenty of pride in the role too, knowing that Fuller’s Ales, food and service has a reputation as some of the very best in the business.
You’ll need to be commercially minded, making the right decisions to keep customers pouring through the doors. Importantly though, you’ll be a people-person too - mindful that to many, you’re still a good old-fashioned ‘Landlord’.
And of course, you’ll have a team to look after. So we’re looking for somebody with true leadership qualities – able to keep both the customers and the team smiling.

After 5 exceptionally successful years at the Pilot in Greenwich, Ed is embarking on a new challenge at the Chamberlain Hotel and as such we are looking for a General Manager to lead The Pilot and ensure its continued great performance.
Perfectly situated in Greenwich with amazing views of Canary Wharf, The Pilot is the best place locally to enjoy great food and drink in contemporary, cosy surroundings. With a subtle Nautical theme running throughout, guests are welcomed in a beautiful bar with exposed pipes and brick work. The bar leads on to stunning split level dining room and down to a lovely garden which is accessed through bi-fold doors allowing for an amazing al fresco dining experience during the summer months. Being only a short distance from the o2 arena, the pubs 10 beautiful boutique bedrooms offer a great base for guests who would like to stay nearby but is also perfect for those wishing to use Greenwich as their base to explore the City.
With an open plan kitchen and a superb food offer with a great focus on lighter dishes and breakfast served every day, the pub has a great reputation for dining and has a wide range of premium wines, spirits and real Ales. The next General Manager of the Pilot will be the face of the business, ensuring that both overnight guests and those stopping by for dinner or a drink receive the very best customer service.
This is an exciting time for the Pilot, with the development of the surrounding area, and ever increasing numbers of residents settling in to the neighborhood. Greenwich Peninsula is also undergoing a drive to become a hub of creativity and a center for new business ventures. This means that connections with the developers, local community and businesses will be essential in building relationships and increasing revenue.
