Natalie aged 44 is a real girly girl who loves shopping, getting her nails done and having meals out. She is described as a ‘sweetheart’ who is very affectionate and has a beautiful giggle. Natalie acquired a brain injury at birth which has led to significant delay; she has the developmental age of a 6-year-old. Natalie is unable to read or write and has difficulty with fine motor skills. She is extremely chatty but does need prompts to keep the conversation flowing. Natalie is more advanced when it comes to social awareness and is extremely well mannered.
The job will involve supporting Natalie with her day to day activities, directing and enabling her in a discreet way, whilst still promoting her independence. The position is based primarily in Beirut and London, but during the summer the family spend 2 to 3 weeks on holiday, usually in the South of France. You’ll support Natalie as she travels with her family and some additional hours will be required during these periods. The family are hoping to move to London permanently by the end of the year.
This job will suit someone who is patient, affectionate, energetic and resourceful. You must be confident directing Natalie in a calm manner without being too over-bearing. Someone who can provide Natalie with intellectual stimulation during the day and be resourceful in organizing activities is key. There is a big sense of team work and becoming part of the family unit.
This is an amazing opportunity to join a very close family who are looking for a special person to join Natalie’s supportive team. In turn you will be provided with beautiful accommodation, fantastic travel prospects whilst making a difference and having a positive impact on Natalie’s life!
