Your primary role as Business Development Manager is to prospect for new clients by networking, cold calling, advertisement or other means of generating interest from potential clients. You must then plan persuasive approaches and pitches that will convince potential clients to do business with the company.
It is your duty to set targets for sales with your superior, grow and to retain existing accounts by presenting new solutions and services to clients. Strategic planning is a key part of this job description, since it is your responsibility to develop the pipeline of new business coming into the company. This requires a through knowledge of the market, the solutions/services the company can provide, and of the company's competitors.
It's your responsibility to improve our organisation's marketing position and help achieve financial growth. It is your duty to define long-term organisational strategic goals, builds key customer relationships, identifies business opportunities, negotiates and closes business deals and to maintain extensive knowledge of current market conditions.
The successful candidate must have more than 5 years experience in a training and consultancy organisation or in a similar role with proven track records. A degree in a Business Development, Marketing or an MBA is essential. Must be ready to travel for long period of time covering countries in Africa, Middle East and Europe.
You must have a proven track-record of sales success and new business acquisition, excellent written and verbal communication skills, high degree of commercial acumen, professionalism, integrity and initiative.
