Average 37 hours per week over 5 days, Tuesday to Friday 8 – 3 / Sundays 9 – 4. Some Saturday work when required.
Snaps + Rye is a bright and modern, independent Danish restaurant on the Golborne Road near Portobello. Open from 9am serving breakfast and brunch, moving into lunch until 3pm. Our weekly-changing four course dinner is served on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings.
Our standards are high and we’re an ambitious bunch looking for the right ‘morning person’ to join our team. Responsible for opening the kitchen each day, the role involves taking care of deliveries and general setting up, alongside making a selection of Danish smørrebrød (delicate open sandwiches) and various pastries and cakes for the service counter.
Brunch starts at 9 and the successful candidate must be capable of running service independently for the first few hours, taking care of both restaurant and take-away orders. Ordering and stock control for these sections are also required as is helping with events and outside catering.
An enthusiasm to learn about modern Danish/Scandinavian cooking is essential. There are opportunities to expand the role and contribute to the menu, so would suit a strong, creative cook.
Most importantly, we are looking for someone with a positive, cheerful approach to join us in helping the business evolve.
