An exciting restaurant based in Mayfair is currently recruiting for an Accountant to join their team on a permanent basis.
Key responsibilities
Duties will include but not be limited to;
Weekly bookkeeping.
Bank, salary and Paye reconciliations
Journal postings
Supplier statement reconciliations
Preparation of VAT returns
Preparation of monthly management accounts.
Dealing with financial paperwork and filing.
Monitoring performance of the restaurant compared to budget and monthly reporting of the restaurant and pro-actively communicate major deviations;
Ensure professional and efficient utilization of all systems, in line with company best practices and standard operating procedures;
Provide financial insight and challenge
Produce meaningful financial reports and commentary explaining performance.
Make recommendations on how financial performance can be improved.
Challenge under-performance whilst maintaining relationships.
Own and manage the budget and forecast process for the restaurants business.
Take ownership of the balance sheet and cash flow.
The ideal candidate will be;
Meticulous with attention to detail
Excellent communication skills
Good analytical skills
Strong ability to be proactive and work alone.
Fully competent to manage workload and complete jobs on time.
Well organised
Must have extensive knowledge of QuickBooks.
Must have worked in the catering industry / or similar position.
AAT/CAT/ICB desirable or Part Qualified Accountant.
