We are a couple with two cheerful sons, aged 4 and 7, and need an au pair to come live with us from 30th August. We live in a big house in Alexandra Palace, a leafy, family-friendly area in north London, 7 minutes from the tube and other excellent transport.
We are looking for someone to help get the boys ready in the morning and taken them to school (7.30 - 9am), and to pick them up after school at 3.30pm, prepare them dinner, and to look after them (homework, play and bath) until we get home between 7 and 7.30pm. We may ask you to babysit once or twice a week, and we would need you to work longer hours (during the day) when the children are on holiday. Other duties are helping with laundry and ironing and general tidiness, but all our cleaning is done by a cleaner who comes once a week.
Our boys love sport, reading, music and drawing so we are looking for someone active, creative and who likes to laugh. We do require that you are able to stay with us for at least one year.
We will pay £120 per week.
Your room will be a big bedroom facing the garden, with its own bathroom.
You will usually be free between 9am and 3.30pm.
We are warm, friendly people and will take time to make sure you are settled in, and to introduce you to other local au pairs.
Ideally we would like to meet all applicants, so the preference is for someone already in the UK who can come to our house to meet us for an interview. We look forward to hearing from you.
