Assistant Manager Job in London

Albert’s Table is a 2 AA Rosette fine dining restaurant in South Croydon and we are looking for a charismatic and welcoming Assistant Manager to help run the Front of House. We offer an excellent opportunity for a passionate Front of House Assistant Manager to be part of the restaurant’s growing success, and to progress in the catering industry. You will take full responsibility for running the floor and the FOH team under the guidance of the General Manager.
The successful Assistant Manager will join a highly motivated and professional team, committed to using the best ingredients including a vast variety of fresh local produce from Surrey, Sussex and Kent, and committed to help customers enjoy the best possible dining experience.
In order to provide the best customer experience, we are committed to staff development through both in-house and external relevant training courses; to help them gain accredited qualifications (WSET wine qualification for example).
The restaurant is 2 AA Rosette rated, as well as being listed in the Michelin and Good Food Guides but are ambitious and continue to raise the bar in the food that we serve, the service that we provide, and the total customer experience.
The ideal candidate will:
- Excellent customer facing and engagement skills, so it is essential that you are conversationally fluent in English
- Be ambitious, and want to grow into a full general manager role over time
- Able to motivate and train a team with various levels of experience
- Stay cool under pressure
- Have a first-class work ethic
- Passion for delivering high standards of service
- Have strong restaurant experience including having worked at supervisor level in a relevant restaurant. This will typically include some experience at another Rosette or Michelin Star awarded restaurant
- Be naturally friendly and capable of building relationships with our many regular customers
Responsibilities will include:
- Management of shifts on your own
- End of day cash up
- Mentor and train new members of staff
- Induction of new staff
- Continually set new standards and improve on current ones, whilst assessing the business on a daily basis.
- WSET wine qualification would be desirable- but not essential
Salary; £23,000 ~ £25,000 for 45 hour week
The restaurant is closed on Sunday night and all day Monday.
