Anyway you are looking for a new job so the information below may not seem important to you now, but you may find it very useful after finding the job of your dream.
First question to ask yourself is do I really want to keep my job? Do I enjoy doing the same work day after day? Do I like the people I have to work with that surround me every day? If the answer is no than please continue. It is easy to keep a job that you really love, I would say that it is almost impossible to lose it… you can only leave for a better one which is a totally different matter.
So how do you keep your job? It’s very simple, you should be so precious to your company and colleagues that they couldn’t even imagine working without you. And to do this you have to learn how to love your job, enjoy your co-workers and be in good relations with your boss.
To start loving your job you need objective achievable goals and full concentration while working.
The goal: If the goals provided by the employer are not appealing they are either not clear enough or not in the margins of your qualifications, it means that either you are over qualified which turns the job into a boring activity or you don’t have the required qualifications which turns it into a headache.
If the goal is too blurry it’s simple, just ask for clarifications from your boss or co-workers. Regarding the suitability, if the situation permits you can discuss how the tasks given to you can be changed to better suit your expertise and how much more you could benefit the company if you could work on the right tasks.
When situation can’t be changed you have to change yourself. Try finding a creative approach to your boring activities and try developing your qualification for tasks that you never did before.
Concentration: To maintain full concentration on your job you should capture all the facets of the job in your mind and keep them in a perfect balance. When fully concentrated on doing something you will enter a kind of trance or special state of mind where you forget all other worries and problems. In this state of mind all the resources required to achieve your goals are gathered around you as if you attract them. This way you become very productive and feel a sense of happiness about it.
This state of consciousness is very familiar to artists, musicians and programmers. You know that you achieved it when it is almost physically painful when someone distracts you from your activity. This is how you start loving your job. That’s why it is important to ask your colleagues to distract you only during specific periods of time when you are not busy.
